What is the new cladding funding?

The government is expanding the Cladding Safety Scheme by introducing
funding for multi-occupied residential buildings under 11 metres in England.

The funding is intended to address life safety fire risks associated
with cladding and external wall systems, as identified through a Fire
Risk Appraisal of External Walls.

Unsafe cladding refers to an external wall system where a risk to life
from fire spread has been identified through a PAS 9980:2022-compliant
assessment and is considered intolerable without mitigation or remediation.

Important
The funding is targeted and does not guarantee funding for every
medium or high-risk building under 11 metres.

Which buildings may qualify?

βœ“ Located in England
βœ“ Under 11 metres in height
βœ“ Contain two or more dwellings
βœ“ Have relevant cladding fire safety risks

The funding is tenure neutral, so privately owned and social housing

existing Cladding Safety Scheme guidance.
