Running 100 Miles for Epilepsy Society

A Cause Close to Dortech’s Heart

At Dortech, this challenge is about far more than endurance.

One of our colleagues has a son living with epilepsy — and seeing first-hand the impact this condition can have on a family brings a very real perspective to something many people still don’t fully understand.

This is why we are supporting the Epilepsy Society.

Why This Matters to Dortech

Businesses are built on people — and when something affects one of our own, it affects all of us.

Epilepsy brings uncertainty, unpredictability and daily challenges that many families quietly navigate. Through this challenge, Dortech is standing behind that family — and many others like them — to raise awareness, support, and funding.

This isn’t just a run.

It’s a show of support.

Epilepsy in the UK

Epilepsy affects over 600,000 people in the UK, or roughly 1 in every 100 individuals.

Despite being one of the most common neurological conditions:

  • • Around 87 people are diagnosed every day
  • • Up to 30% continue to experience seizures
  • • Many live with constant uncertainty

Awareness still doesn’t reflect the scale of impact.

The Challenge

To support this cause, a 100-mile non-stop run will take place along the Huddersfield Canal.

Starting at 10:00pm on 28th April and aiming to finish the following afternoon, this challenge represents:

100 miles. One day. One purpose.

But the distance itself is not the story.

The reason behind it is.

How You Can Support

If you would like to support this cause and help raise awareness for epilepsy, you can donate here:

Every donation, share and conversation helps bring more awareness to a condition that affects so many families.

Final Thoughts

This challenge is about turning effort into impact.

“When something affects one of us, it matters to all of us. This is about standing together and making a difference.”

Running towards better — together.
