Dortech Maintenance have just completed a glazing refurbishment project at Stockport Academy which incorporated the manipulation of a number of curtain wall screens to increase the amount of natural ventilation going into the building.
In order to determine the number and sizes of windows required, our team conducted air flow calculations, then designed and manufactured over 20 new windows to deliver the exact amount of additional ventilation required in the building.
Following this, our engineers then reconfigured the existing curtain wall glazed screens to accommodate the new vents which are operated by the buildings electronic management system. So when the building temperature increases above a specified threshold, the vents are automatically opened until the temperature reduces.
For further information or assistance relating to ventilation, please contact our engineers who will be delighted to assist.
